how much $ is your deposit for your private preschool or pre-k?

just taking a poll because we find the policy at our school to be pretty outrageous. it costs approximately $2500 to hold a spot and it is non-refundanble.
what are the policies at other schools? |

| I think schools do this to discourage defections to waitlisted schools. I actually think it's understandable and is in many ways good for the class, since the new class is starting to get to know each other after families commit to the school. |

| I'm the PP with the 3 months of tuition. It is a very small preschool coop, so it is less than almost all the amounts that have been quoted. |
