Redoing our bathroom and need to out some sort of shelf or shelving unit in the shower. Contractor suggested one of those glass shelves but I'm afraid the metal bracket will rust (he admitted it probably would eventually). But I feel like those plastic shelves are so ugly. Any suggestions? We'd put it on the far wall and short term the shower would mainly be used for guests and kids baths, so it might stay in shape longer. We don't really have the money to add a recessed shelf, which would probably be the best. |
We've had this one for about 6 years and it hasn't rusted a bit:

We bought a Simple Human shower caddy similar to the link, because it supposedly wouldn't rust. The metal tiers DID start to rust after about a year, but they replaced them for free, and we haven't hard problems since. So at least if you go metal, get something with a good guarantee. |
Agree- I think SH guarantees for five years. Spraying with some sort of clear coat might help too. |
