MGR early or late to every regularly scheduled meeting - WWYD?

Anonymous
My manager inherited me and the rest of my team. For months, he either cancels scheduled recurring weekly meetings by not showing up, calls in to the meeting 20 minutes early, or 20 minutes late and pushes back the meeting end time. We all telecommute. To me, he plays games and he purposely doesn't call in to the meeting at the scheduled time because he is being rude, disrespectful, and showing his subordinates who is boss - that he is the important one. He can be late or call in early or not at all to our scheduled meetings, and as subordinates our schedules aren't as important. This has happened every meeting for months. Once he even called in

WWYD?

OP here. To finish me last sentence, once he called in and informed us he was just taking his lunch out of the microwave.

Have the meeting without him. Say hey guys, since we're all on here except Bob, let's just go over quickly what our projects are so it's not a complete waste of time.

Can you do that? Would that shame him as he called in late?

The other alternative is to just have a 5 min wait policy then everyone hangs up.

It would not shame him if we held the meeting without him. We can't really have the meeting without him.

We have to call in on his phone line and stay on hold listening to elevator music until he calls in since he is the moderator.

The good thing is, all of this has been documented through our phones at work. If I went over his head with it, there would be months of phone records.

I just don't want to do that.

OP here. MGR was supposed to call for our individual twice monthly meeting. He is almost 15 minutes late. No call. No email. No calendar cancelation. I have another meeting scheduled in 15 minutes. If he calls late, I will have to cut the call short.

This time, I am not sending him an email reminder. He has access to my shared Outlook calendar, and the meeting is on his calendar for him to call me.

OP here. MGR just now calls me. 20 minutes late, on the dot! I cut the call short.
