After weight loss did you alter clothing? Not done with children...

I was a 10 in the first postpartum year, I am now more of an 8 and some of my work clothes including some suits seem too baggy. I am not sure as to whether I should have these taken in or altered, or whether I should keep them around for the next postpartum period, when I could very easily again wear a 10. It seems like a big expense to have several things altered, but perhaps it would be less costly than buying new things. Of course, I have some 8's left from my pre-pregnancy life, but I kind of like my newer items...

Anyone else in this situation? What would you do??

I delivered my 2nd 4 months ago and back to my pre-pregnancy weight. This was not the case with #1, so I have a closet full of clothes ranging in size 6-12. I just spent $62 on alterations - hemming 1 pair of jeans and taking in the waist and sides of 2 pair of 'work' slacks. It was totally worth it IMO, however I was hoping for it to cost less. I could have easily dropped (which I don't have) $200 on finding the same pants in my new size. I have jeans and casual jackets that I might alter too, but maybe take them out to Arlington rather than Bethesda for a better price.

OP here. I just to see hate fun, current clothing just hanging in my closet because it is too big. While it would be nice to have these things altered to fit me now, I wonder if I might appreciate having some nice, bigger clothing for when I again have some extra baby weight (and knowing myself well, I will have it for longer than a few months). Also, I could wear it perhaps on the way "up" when I start to show...

Maybe I just answered my own question.

OP - it sounds lik eyou're planning to get pregnant relatively soon again. If that's the case and you do have some other clothes that do fit, makes more sense to not tailor and just look at the 10's as your "reserve" for when you need them again in a year.
