We are planning to have a patio installed next spring or summer. Any tips or recommendations for contractors that service the northern VA area? |
Start shopping early spring
Don't go with the cheapest Check references/prior work Visit Sislers to check out samples. Budget at least 20‰ over quoted/agreed amount as you're very likely to add smthg mid-construction. If possible, be present most of the time, or available on short notice to address immediate needs Unless you super insecure and must align with DCUM "musts", go with pavers. |
Feel free to give us a call @ 301-875-2781 http://www.designbuildersmd.com We have lot of good info in our blog and YouTube on patio design and styles. Unless you add items, a good firm should be able to keep cost at the estimated level. I do agree with the other poster that pavers are great. Lots of styles, colors, and patterns. Hopefully we can help. We offer in person and Online Design Consultations. |
After we got stiffed by an unreliable contractor, we luckily found The Sharper Cut Landscapes. They are professional from start to end. We had an in-home consultation with Bill who listened to our needs. He then provided us with online "blueprints" and we worked together to get the exact patio and retaining walls we wanted. And there was no pressure to go over our budget - we were given several scenarios at our budget and at various deviations from our budget. We are so happy with our patio and are definitely looking to them to overhaul our landscaping next year! |
