We moved into a house with an old BGE meter that we're pretty sure was broken. And we're pretty sure an actual meter reading hadn't been done in a while as the numbers we saw on the meter and the ones on the bill weren't matching up (meter inside the house). A few weeks after we moved in, they came out to install the smart meter. We just got our first bill that includes some old meter and some new meter charges. The difference is SIGNIFICANT and its clear the old meter was wrong/broken/etc. I'm getting ready to call BGE to request an audit of our usage based on these numbers but just curious if this has happened to anyone and if so, were you successful in getting bill adjustments? |
