Is this professional?

Don't be PC (and don't take offense if others aren't PC). This is asked on behalf of a real life person who wants honest advice.

I have a good friend who is a law firm senior associate. She used to chemically straighten her hair and now wears it as a natural wash and go. She is AA, pretty, skinny, and well dressed in a way that usually falls on the formal end of business casual (think black wool blazer, neutral colored silk shell and pencil skirt with pearl earrings, not ultra fashionista). Her hair is pretty typical Afro hair -- fuzzy with tiny curls:

It's fine.

Yes, it's perfectly fine. What would be wrong with it?

Very professional. And I like it.
Anonymous
Yes, I think it looks polished and professional.

Yes, of course. It is professional and gorgeous. Any hairstyle that is well-groomed and maintained is professional.

And I'd venture to say she doesn't give rat's ass if you think it is professional or attractive or not. Women in general and women of color in particular are more and more living by our own lights and our own rules. Enjoy 1950. You seem to be stuck there, and the world is happily passing you by.

It's lovely and professional.

That example looks fine. The model's makeup and jewelry helps complete the professional look.

Omg, I'm the OP. What gives? I didn't express any opinion. SHE is the one educated ME about how Afro hair can be frowned upon and thought to be making some kind of political statement that she is not making. I thought I would ask for her. I just want honest answers. I am not trying to start anything.

Professional and it makes me sad that their would even be a question about it.

OP here:
Anyone think it is NOT professional? I don't want different opinions to be silent. (And please don't pop up again, hostile PP! This isn't a referendum. Just one person asking one question about one person.)

A previous poster here. Don't worry OP it is not you. But be warned. These kinds of threads about AA hair care and styles, no matter how innocent, often disintegrate into racism, perceived racism, etc.

Professional - and beautiful, elegant, enviable (I could go on).

No one - except a racist - would say these examples are unprofessional. It's AA hair in its natural, well-groomed state.

It looks very professional to me.
