Montessori in Bethesda? Manor/LoneOak/Bethesda/Apple/Abingdon

Anonymous
I'm looking for a montessori school in Bethesda that has a warm environment. I know that I want a montessori, but I'd like one that isn't too rigid.

I have looked at 3 of them and love 1, but was told that I might not be able to get in for next year. I need to have a few backups, but can't figure out which ones to tour next and don't want to check them all out since I've already visited 5 preschools so far. Any thoughts?

Apple is a franchise so I would be wary of it.

Lone Oak is AMI so it is going to be the most rigid, but I have heard great things about the director.

Manor and Woods are the warmest by far.

do either of the previous posts know someone who attended or have experience with these schools? If so, what was it? Thanks!

My daughter went to Lone Oak for 3 1/2 years and we were very happy there. I never felt that it was too rigid at all. In fact, we also looked at Franklin in North Potomac and that seemed much more institutional than Lone Oak, where we got a much warmer feeling.

I have a friend who selected Manor at the Potomac campus and loved it.

We have friends who are very happy with Manor at St Dunstan's (near Little Falls Parkway). They switched their daughter from a play-based program in search of greater academic challenge, and apparently they've found it.

Thanks for the info above. I'll check into Lone Oak and Manor.
