I put down grass seed on Sunday...

Will it survive this rain?

I tilled my hard pack clay, added bags and bags of topsoil and purchased expensive seed. Was all my work for naught?

With rain this heavy, you're probably going to have the grass seed and topsoil washing away a bit, especially if your yard is on a slope. Maybe you can go outside tomorrow when things dry out a bit and use a rake to lightly help redistribute things before the next rain event? Worst case scenario is that you'll have a lot of grass sprouting in the low spots with bare spots in the higher spots. At least there is finally some rain!

This happened to me once, and the grass turned out fine. The rain really got it going.

This is OP and happy to report the grass is sprouting. I will have to put down more seed this week to even out the puddle/bare spots, but at least it's not a total loss!!
