I've got the fabric, but want to know how much it will be to upholster a 96" sofa and two arm chairs. Anyone do this recently and can help me guesstimate? |
It's going to be very, very pricey. It would vary so much because of the size of the sofa and how it's put together, cushions, etc. I would contact a seamstress and send a picture.
I had a chair reupholstered for $800 and that seemed to be the going rate. |
Depends on the upholsterer. I recovered two armchairs for around $1000 but I found a guy way out in MD to do it (he picked up and delivered) and it took a while. The more local quotes were significantly more expensive. I'd guess sofa and two arm chairs would be around $2K, at least. |
Care to share his name!? - OP here. |
Send a picture of the sofa by email to Upholstery Restoration in Kensington and they will email you back a quote. They have very good prices, but yes, it will be pricier than you think. http://www.urfabric.com/ |
put a picture here and i give you an estimated |
just a note that Calico corners also does this and has beautiful fabric, but it will be the same as say, buying a new chair from Ethan Allen or Room & Board. That said, if it's a family piece or great quality chair it might be worth it to you. |
Pretty much just like this http://www.ethanallen.com/en_US/shop-furniture-living-room-chairs-chaises/madison-chair/207771.html#prefn1=material&sz=36&start=73&prefv1=Fabric |
I had a sofa done for 1750, fabric was 800, labor 950. Of course I could've got a new one, but it is an extremely well made sofa and I just love it. Worth it to me. |
