Must-sees in mid-town Manhattan?

Taking 10-year-old DD to the American Girl place in NYC tomorrow. What else is near that that's fun? We're planning on Rockefeller Center and some of the stores in Times Square like the giant Toys R Us with the ferris wheel and the Hershey candy store. Sadly, just a day trip.

Don't expect you'll have time for it but I arranged for my 8th grader and her friends to take a tour in Central Park of the places used in movies and tv shows. You'd have to google it since I don't remember the URL but I'm sure it's easy to find. Didn't cost too much, got them some exercise, and out to see a classic NY spot.

M&M World in Times Square, for snacks for the trip home.

American Girl Place, across from Rockefeller Center.

(M&M World was a disappointment for us.)
