Faint Skunky smell in basement

We've lived here 4 years and for the first time today smell a faint skunky smell in our finished side of the basement. No skunk. We've smell outside and there's no skunk smell. Any idea what this could be? It does not smell like a dead animal. I don't smell it at all on the unfinished side.

Never smelled it before and We didn't smell it this morning. Just this afternoon

Sounds like someone's been smoking marijuana in the basement.

You might have a floor drain with a water trap that has dried out because no water ever flows into it. I have one, and have to pour a quart of water into it every month or so to keep the sewer gasses from coming up through the drain.

It might be something as stupid as a stink bug. I've noticed them coming in now that it gets cold at night.
