St. Bernadettes Springfield, Nativity Burke

Any feedback for either of these schools from current families?

Both are nice schools -- I would tour both schools to see which is the best for your family.

There seem to be many military families at St. B's if you are military.

St. B got a new principal 2 or 3 years ago and seems to have been faltering a bit ever since - some changes in staff, in policies and traditions, lack of morale. Two families, who are friends of ours, have left and they say others have too. When I toured, it appeared that students spend most of the day at desks and all of the lessons are teacher led from a teacher's manual as students follow along in their textbooks.

thank you for the feedback?
Anyone know anything about Nativity?

What type of parish school are you looking for OP?

There are three Catholic schools in that area. In addition to the two you mentioned, there is a small, independent Catholic school loosely affiliated with St. Raymonds, Angeles Academy. We did preschool there and it is a lovely program.

Are you new to the area?

Have you selected a parish yet?

We have been here a couple of years and attend nativity, but I am not sure about the school

We go to St. B's and love it. Yes, there has been a new principal, and there were some families ("the old guard") who did not like the change. That side, he has hit his stride, and the community is reinvigorated. I love the community of parents and the faith based education. It is a bit of a throw back school, but we actually LIKE that about the school. While they do have technology implemented in the school, it is not the primary focus -- and we are ok with that. We are super happy there, and it took us while to find a school that really felt right for our family.
