Thoughts on the "summer" scarf look?

Anonymous
I am fairly young looking 38 year old SAHM. I know this was a trend last year, but seems to be this year too and with the weather the way it is, kind of practical. Thoughts? Too young?

It is not really last year--it is every year in some places (Europe, e.g.). So just do it. It is cute and you are young anyway. Actually, I think it looks good on everyone, and I would think my mom would look good doing this (she's in her 60s).

As long as the scarf does not have skulls, lame Coach symbols, etc. they are classic and you are good!

How do you fashionable women usually wear it/tie it?
I have scarves, I just never quite know if I'm wearing 'em "correctly."

I never understood the summer scarve, and the belt that doesn't hold anything, like when it is over a sweater, though agree that both look great on some women. On me they just looked silly.

I like the belt over nothing because I have no curves. It adds a little definition between my waist and hips.

I love scarves (and wear them weekday, including in the summer)! There are tons of ways to tie a scarf. Hermes has this little brochure with step-by-step instructions/ideas on how to do it. You can ask for one at the Neiman Marcus counter of Hermes at Tysons.

Love the scarves . . . very chic.
