Saw an over $1 million house with an IKEA kitchen and it looked great

So, I am considering doing the same, IKEA would save me $16K.
Of course, I would use nice counters and knobs etc.
Talk me out of it or into it.

I love ikea kitchens. go for it.

If it looked great, go for it. Why should we talk you out of it?

It would be ridiculous if you used the most expensive material and had a hideous looking kitchen. Would that be more acceptable?

We have a $1M modern house with a modern IKEA kitchen and love it.

I have an IKEA kitchen and love it also! We bought the house mainly for the gorgeous kitchen.

My house would likely sell for $950k and it has an Ikea kitchen.

We renovated a house a couple years ago with a modern white ikea kitchen. It sold the same day it listed for $950k. We are currently renovating our new downtown townhouse with an ikea kitchen and otherwise high end fixtures. I expect our house would sell for above $1.3m.

Those of you with beautiful Ikea kitchens, who did you use for install and finish carpentry?

It depends a lot on the door style chosen and the feel of the home. I toured a $1m classic colonial with a Bodbyn Gray Ikea kitchen and it just looked so out of place.

We did kitchen 7 years ago. Ikea's stile did not appeal to us.
We payed less then at Ikea but with better quality of cabinets.
We use Panda Kitchen and Bath and assembled everything ourselves (it is challenging if you are not handy, since it is not design to be assembled by regular people).
Every person that enter our house usually speechless when they see our kitchen first time .
People usually think that we spent fortune on our kitchen but we did not.

1 million is not an expensive house around here. My house is a million and we have ikea furniture.

We had an expensive kitchen by a company called Bulthaup. I think they start at $150k (it was there when we bought). Everyone thought it was Ikea. Do the Ikea.

Go for it. House down the street sold for $1.5M and it had Ikea. The doors are made in Italy as are some of the other big name big price companies. I just figure being Ikea they have the ability to get very similar products for much less money.
