What's so special about Justice Clothing?

Anonymous
So my 7 year old has been nagging me to go to Justice because the older cool girls wear their clothes. Right now I buy stuff at Gymboree, Land's end, Hanna and special things at Tea and Janie and Jack. I finally took her to Justice and everything looked so cheaply made. Like an overpriced Forever 21 for tweens. Is this a correct assessment? My daughter couldn't find any actual clothing she liked so she settled on a scarf and some jewelry. I had heard so much, I was surprised at the quality/price.

cheap and trashy. not for my daughter.

This is my impression too. My tween niece wears a lot of Justice. It looks pretty junky to me, although the older kids do wear it. I've been delaying introducing the store to my 6.5 year old as long as possible, even though she has outgrown Tea, Gymboree, etc. We buy Hanna online (it comes in larger sizes online). Until she asks for it, I'm not going to encourage it.

Any ideas of alternatives? I was going to start a thread about where people shop. I have a 9 year old.

+1, this. If it helps, though, they will grow out of it in a few years...

My daughter loves it for basics - leggings, jeans, t-shirts, tanks, skirts, bra tops. She also likes some of the decorated shirts. They've toned it down in the past couple months and increased prices. It is less trashy than it was for a while.

You can get it at Marshalls and TJ Max. I don't get it but kids like it.

Like pp I was surprised when I finally walked into one after hearing the hype. It is a junk store. I'm not sure girls even really like the clothing but think that they're supposed to because it's geared to their demographic, KWIM?

It's sparkly. That's what 7 yr olds like about it.

It is a trendy store among that age group but the quality and price suck. They do make some basics like camisoles with built in bra, leggings and pjs.

There is nothing special about it. They're just really good at marketing.

The jeggings are really soft and fit well, which has been a major plus for my daughter with sensory issues. Ditto the "oh so soft" bras. She can't wear most of the novelty shirts as she doesn't like the feeling of decals but the plain t-shirts are nice and hold up well.

It is trash. Looks like Walmart clothes with the name Justice on it.

This is good to know (my DD has sensory issues too and it's always a struggle to find things she will wear).

So where to go instead?
