I think something is in my attic - I heard something move tonite - it was very brief and confined to one place. Heard it again tonite - same place. It's close to the exterior wall so I can't tell if it is on the roof, or in the attic. I am guessing, the attic. Sounded like it has claws. Heard feet run for a second, then nothing. Then 20 minutes later, a loud creak like it was kind of heavy. This is freaking me out - it's right over DD's room. I live in a small old 50s house (reno'd before I moved in).
I'm in falls church. OMG what is it? |
I meant I heard it last nite, then tonite - same place |
And pls recommend somebody to get the animal out of here! |
Call Adcock's trapping! They'll find and remove whatever it is. Good luck tonight! |
Raccoon |
At night, tends to be rats or a raccoon. Squirrels more active during the day. |
Raccoon. Definitely call a wildlife trapper. You do not want that in your attic. |
And it's getting in from somewhere, so you'll have to look at your soffit all around the roof, find & patch the hole. |
Raccoon! Get it out before it has babies |
Thanks for the rec!! |
UGH - I really hope not!! I heard that I would have to remove all the insulation and have it professionally cleaned because the doo doo is life threatening - and maybe insurance would cover it. Pls pls dont let it be a raccoon!!!! ![]() |
Nah. You've only had it up there a few days. I am not a biologist/contageous disease expert by any means but I would imagine that you've carried in some raccoon poop on your shoes over the years and you are no worse for the wear. Just trap the thing and be done with it. |
It is not raccoon baby season.
Could be a possum on the roof. |
Life threatening? I'm sure raccoons have been finding a warm place to live inside people's walls/attics for hundreds of years. How did we survive if their feces was life threatening? Just don't eat it or anything. |
