nose frida snot sucker for 4 year old?

My almost 5 year old can't blow his nose. I have tried and tried, I just can't get him to understand it.

He's got a cold or some allergy issues right now and asked for the snot sucker. We're in transition in moving, and everything is in inaccessible storage. I know it's only $15, but I wondered if I'm crazy to go buy another one of these for a 5 year old. Will they even work on this size nose?

Any suggestions on how to teach him to blow his nose?

I've read something about having them blow cotton balls out of your hand to teach the basic concept. My LO is under 1 so that's just tucked away as an idea for the future, no clue if it'd work!

My 5 year old would not let me near him with that thing, but if yours would, go for it. Target has them.

have them cover their mouth with one hand and blow the cotton balls off their other hand.
