I hate to say this, but that carpet is going to have to be ripped up. Mold and mildew grow and spread. In the meantime, you might be able to use charcoal and baking soda to absorb the smell.

Did you call the company back and tell them? They might need to bring in large fans to speed up the drying process.

It's still going to stink even after it dries. OP needs new carpet.

Who did this?? They got it way too wet.

I would open all doors and windows and run a dehumidifier.

Have some patience, 9 minutes between posts? Wow.

Go to Home Depot and purchase a large dehumidifier and several box fans. It will take a couple of days, but that should solve your problem.

We had our carpets professionally cleaned. Open all windows or run the ac. It took a couple of days and the smell went away. Not sure what your situation is, though.

Dehumidifier.Sprinkle baking soda to remove the smell. If mold and mildew has spread, you will need to replace the carpet.

This is OP - Thanks to all! The baking soda remedy totally worked. There is still a slight smell but, for the most part, it's gone! Baking soda is an amazing substance.

Thanks, again!!
