matching cover panels with cabinets/IKEA

Anonymous
I'm ordering an IKEA kitchen with wood drawer and doors from another vendor. The other vendor and the contractor I am working with both suggested that I just get cover panels (for the sides of the cabinets that are exposed) from IKEA rather than from the vendor to save money. I'm happy to save money and did match the paint for the drawer fronts and doors to the IKEA base cabinets (as I'm getting IKEA therma-foil toe kicks rather than painted wood ones) but I'm still slightly worried about the cover panels matching the doors/drawer fronts well enough. No one else seems to think it's an issue and it's likely not? What have others done? (I think it will cost about $900 more to get them from the vendor who is making the doors and drawers.)

Themofoil sucks, you should've gotten the paintable

I cannot imagine them matching perfectly. Maybe they will be close enough, maybe not (probably not). If you can compare samples, great, otherwise I wouldn't do different materials painted by different venders.
