Bag for Stroller Necessary?

Any opinions on whether it's a good idea to purchase the carrying bag for a lightweight stroller for use when you check it at the gate? Is it worth the extra $40 to protect it during transit or is this completely unnecessary?

We've never wrapped strollers or car seats in anything extra when checking them in. Maybe we've been lucky, but they've always come out fine.

Nah, nothing ever happens, esp if you gate check. They have plastic bags if you really must wrap...

Definitely not. Also, if you are traveling alone w the baby, there is no way you could deal with bagging the stroller and holding the kid at the same time. Forget it.
