We have a basic federal rowhouse in the District and we want to make a few changes and will likely use a design and build firm. I'd like to try my hand at using a do-it-yourself architecture program to virtually sketch out what I envision. I have read that there are now pretty good websites and software programs for this purpose. Has anyone used one that they really like? I would appreciate any recommendations and words of warning too! Thanks. |
Home designer by Chief architect. Check out all the packages and get the one you think wil be most useful. I used it for my kitchen remodel to visualize. |
Thanks for the lead, PP! |
Thanks again for the recommendation, PP. Last call for others? Bump. |
Are you looking to do plan view(like a floor plan) or d3 design? You can use sketchup. Easy to follow video instructions will get you up working fast. There is a free version. |
Wow, PP. I think that SketchUp thing might be perfect. Thanks. |
Have fun! |
