Contrasting shoes for wedding (I'm a guest)?

Anonymous
I just bought a dress for a wedding this weekend. I have neither the time nor the budget to buy a new pair of shoes as well.

Here is the dress:
http://www.anntaylor.com/catalog/product.jsp?productId=19890&Ne=10&Ns=CATEGORY_SEQ_180&N=1200396+4294967276&Nty=1&categoryId=180&colorFamily=Pink&defaultColorNameFromCategory=Hibiscus&defaultSizeTypeFromCategory=Misses

The dress is "hibiscus" colored, and it's just like the photo of the dress (not the swatch).

I have two pairs of shoes. Both are very strappy and have 3 inch heels.
One is black with an ankle strap (well, lower that the actual ankle - the strap goes across my upper foot).
One is green and more of a slingback (and sexier, I think).

Can I wear the green? Or has the contrasting shoes look passed?

Also, unlike on the model, the dress is just above the knee on me, not two inches above!
TIA!

Personally, I think green shoes would look odd with that dress. YMMV.

If those are the only two choices, wear the black.

Definitely black

Black would not look good. get some neutral shoes. you can buy some at nordstrom for like 30 bucks (its prom season).

I think the green would be totally cute and make a statement (a good high fashion one). I think Stacey and Clinton would say "the green!!"

oh, but if you want to try a neutral or a metallic like gold or platinum (SO in right now and would look fantastic) go to www.zappos.com and buy a pair. You will have them by Friday am and they have lots of cheap pairs and shippping (they will 1 day for free) and returns are free.

I would totally wear the green shoes, personally.

Thanks everyone! We leave this morning, so no Zappos for me. I had to rush ship the dress in a couple of sizes earlier this week - I have two toddlers and no opportunities to shop at all (and with sensitive feet, I have to try on dozens of pairs to find something I can wear).

Going with the green. Tried them on with the dress and they look great.

Love the dress, by the way - considered it for my sister's June wedding. I don't think either the green or black shoes would be quite right - I'd go for more of a neutral shoe or something in a strappy metallic.
