I'm just curious - how much people spend on kids B-day parties?
Please state age of the kid, # of guest, activity place vs home party; HHI My DC just turned 10, he invited 10-12 somewhat close friends and relative. Venue costs $350; cake, pizza, drinks etc - another ~$100 (I hope). Am I out of my mind? HHI ~220K |

| It seems like it's always around $550 unless you just have a couple kids over at your house for pizza. |
| We do a table at the playground for DD3, and it came in around $200-- mainly on tons of food and paper plates. I invited about 20 families and about 15 came, plus various other kids on the playground ate. At this age I really see no reason to spend more. When DD is older I plan to cut the guest list waaaaaay back and do an activity such as ice skating. |

Last year I did a house party for about 20 kids, and it was close to $1000. This year, I'm doing it at a bounce place, and it will hopefully only be around $500.
Neither of those parties had fancy cakes. Some of the amaing cakes I've seen at parties rival wedding cakes and they must be a few hundred dollars. |

We spend about $500. My kids are 4 and 6 and have hosted about 10 parties.
For 1st birthdays, we spent $3k but we got a party planner, catered high end food and went all out for decorations. |
| Birthday party venues are all in the $300 range. Food & cake costs vary according to your choices. I've been baking my own cakes for DS2, and even Betty Crocker tastes better than Safeway or Costco cake. |
