I have called and they were unable to tell me over the phone.
Thanks |
Assume they'll mail results? |
It is a small thing....but it bugs me that their website is not current. The lottery and admissions info is confusing and outdated. I will wait for the results. |
When I called today, they told me to expect something in the mail by Friday. I'm pretty annoyed that they held the lottery this late in the year and then weren't able to make the results immediately available. |
Chill. Out. |
I am with you. |
Newsflash for the entitled brats on the board: Running lotteries isn't LAMB's business; running a school is. |
I think that as a courtesy to the families that they serve, they could update their website with the correct dates for this year, hold the lottery in line with the DCPS lottery and then be happy to quickly tell families the results. I understand that a school like LAMB has limited resources and I have heard that they choose to allocate those resources to the classrooms, but these are small things that can easily be done to help ease the difficult path of school choice for DC families. |
I am sorry but running this lottery is indeed LAMB's business. It is part of their running the school. |
Note that this is endemic in LAMB's approach to communication. This is the second year in a row that their website wasn't updated. They just plain don't communicate well, and they are continually disorganized. If you decide to send your kid to LAMB, they will get a great education, but if disorganization drives you crazy, do NOT send your kid there because you will go nuts. Trust me, I know. |
LAMB's lottery is late and that is inconvenient. My DS was accepted to a different PCS for Pre-K and I need to commit by the end of next week. I would like to know whether LAMB is an option for us before we commit elsewhere so that we can make an informed decision.
Communication with families, the admissions process, and even keeping the website current are all LAMB's responsibility. For those posters who are already a part of the LAMB Community, I wonder if you have addressed these issues with the school or not. If you have and they have ignored you then that is a totally different scenario than if you have never raised the issue with the School Administration. I would appreciate hearing thoughts from current parents at LAMB. Thanks. |
i know a few LAMB parents. all of them are very, very happy with the educational experience that their children are recieving. that said, they do complain about these types of communication issues. if LAMB were an option for us, i would be very happy to send my child there and i would just grin and bear it. |
LAMB parents continually raise these issues, offer to help with updating the website, ask to help with a newsletter, etc. etc. etc. The administration just doesn't see this as a priority. It's just not very organized, and despite numerous pleas from the parents to make it more organized, it's just not. That being said, the principal is very open and responsive in other ways (always can meet with parents, calls people back, etc.) just don't expect to leave with the same shoes you came in with. |
