Early retirement, pensions, decent salaries and excellent benefits with next to no anxiety about AI.

What about those of us who are too old for things like this? Literally - they have age maximums of new hires.

How old are you?

dp.. I"m 56, F, petite. Do you think they'd hire me? I don't think so.

Every law enforcement organization has civilian staff, so yes, it’s likely.

No, it’s not likely.

This is the attitude that causes people to come on DCUM and complain about no jobs.

How about you quit your job and go take one of those civilian positions then?

I would if I was laid off. How about you?

So you’re in the business of putting words in people’s mouths?

I’m gainfully employed. I’m not looking to make a career move.

I copied the below text from the Metropolitan Police website:

“Each day, approximately 650 professional staff serve the Metropolitan Police Department in a broad variety of engaging positions ranging from administrative, technical and operational positions to strategic and senior leadership positions. Every member plays an integral and important role in the day-to-day operations of the Department, and MPD actively recruits and seeks qualified applicants to serve in civilian capacities.”
