While I applaud the women's team success, their game is slow and hard to watch most of the time.

Then don't watch. Geez. I find all the flopping in the men's game dumb. I actually would rather watch the women.

Then dont watch. Geez, I find the lack of excitement in women's soccer boring.

Both teams had a great run of play in the past week. We should celebrate both.

Go back to your mothers basement, where you can't land a date, or to your wife that does not desire you. In fact, I would be willing to bet that those boys teams you mentioned would also pound you into the turf like the little baby you appear to be.

Cool story bro. Advocating for adult women who can’t beat teenage boys to be paid millions like their male professional counterparts doesn’t make you a wiser, better or more kind person. It’s just an insult to intelligence and also basic economics. See Thomas Sowell for additional learning.

Ah, the TRUE colors emerge again. Only a matter of time before these comments or the thread is nuked. BUT some points to counter you -- it's a scrimmage where they practice things. Score doesn't matter. Also, in the U.S., economically, it's been the USWNT carrying all the water.

Economically, it has not been the USWNT carrying the water. Do you know what "economically" means? The USWNT has had more success but has not made more money...they do not generate anywhere near the type of money the men's game does.

The Swiss team losing to boys is not surprising in the least. Wilfred Zaha once dribbled through an entire women's pro team and laughed about it. But what is surprising is thinking that the women's game generates enough money to warrant getting paychecks like the men. And this isn't "TRUE colors"...it's just common sense that your emotions have tried to erase.

It is very hard for women to generate more revenue than the men because of the money generated in tournaments. BUT ... "U.S. women’s soccer games have generated more revenue than U.S. men’s games over the past three years.

That’s according to audited financial statements from the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) obtained by The Wall Street Journal. In 2016, women’s games generated $1.9 million more in revenue than men’s games. From 2016 to 2018, women’s games generated approximately $50.8 million in revenue, compared with $49.9 million for men’s games."

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/06/19/us-womens-soccer-games-now-generate-more-revenue-than-mens.html

It's what led them to eventually agree to split the world cup prize money.

Any talk of revenue in US soccer is a mixed bag. MLS teams have higher revenue and valuations than NWSL, but the most MLS teams are losing money. NWSL is growing much faster and the most valuable NWSL team (Angel FC) is likely worth more than the lowest MLS teams. If I were an investor I would invest in US womens soccer not mens because there is more growth and upside. Give it another 5-10 years and womens could absolutely be making more than mens in the US. NWSL is a top league in the world for womens soccer and has many of the worlds best players. MLS will never be that for mens and will always be a third rate world league.

Our USWNT also lost to young boys (US15) in the last. They lost to U15 boys FC Dallas. They lost to a youth Bayern boys team too.

See interview with Carli Lloyd

I was a female soccer player- had a brother that played professional. In high school he broke my wrist with a shot. He did tell me to get out if the goal first😂. The size and speed of play was already huge at 15-16.

The men play at a much faster pace.

Even the girls that played youth with boys phase out of that when the boys get 14-16.

The Dallas boys lost was April 2017.

Kind of crazy the UWNT could lose to 15-year old boys and win a World Cup and Olympic gold after.

It is not the same level as men.

A former USWNT player would practice with my son’s team that was 5 years younger than her. A current USWNT member also practiced with his team when she was a senior in high school. The boys were instructed not to make any contact with her under any circumstances. It wasn’t soccer. She would have never made it through halftime in a boys match.

My son at u17 played a team with a chubby girl on it. She would illegally foul like crazy—hack ankles, back of knees- but the boys on the field respected she was a girl and didn’t give it back. If she were a boy she would have been flattened the 2nd time she attempted that. The ref would never call her out. She was slow too- no idea why she was playing with that team. Maybe they needed a body, any body??

I played competitive soccer as a woman. Having a 6 foot, muscular 18+-year old man coming full speed at you is crazy when you are at the collegiate level, much less pro level.

There is a difference and it’s why women rightly fight against allowing biological males compete in women’s sports.

Yeah I know (and so should everyone else). My daughter broke my finger with a shot so I guess she's well ahead of my level (yes she is). There is no reason to post this other than to shit on women/girls as the OP knows. Still doesn't discount the fact that women soccer players in the US are held on a much higher pedestal than than male counterparts and I see how that is hard to handle. This will continue until the rest of the world catches up on the women's side or the men actually perform.

Would our men’s team get beat by the U15 boys too ? Maybe they should have a match. lol The selection of usmnt has always been tainted.

Nobody else concerned that the previous posts carrying too much factual data and carrying little to no emotional recourse haven’t been reported yet? Where’s the savior moderator when you need him/it/xe?

That's true. The level is different. It's also scrimmages. Weird the obsession with the scores. This is exactly like tennis, btw. Women make millions and are super popular in that sport, too. We can appreciate both for what they are.

The MLS has 30 teams and 16 did not show a profit. Though these are papers loses which can change if a contract expires, selling a player on, new stadium depreciation, etc. The big problem is lack of a decent media deal. The MSL has to pay production cost on their deal. This reduces the money. Each teams gets like 8-9 million from the media deal. Which is very low. Most of the teams with a “lose” show about 1-2 million. It looks like they are addressing the media in the next few years. Which will help along with the World Cup here in the states.

NWSL is 3rd or 4th in terms of women’s leagues and really suffer from lack of talent when compared to the top women’s leagues. Also their revenue structure is shaky. It is just a league to keep the national team players employed. An invest in the NWSL would be a bad investment.

first time heard something similar was years ago japan's wnt lost to hs boys and the players took it hard and many cried after the match.

Which 2-3 women’s leagues have a better showing? Does the men’s soccer teams have more gold metals or world cups? I can name all the USWNT starters and barely a few USMNT starters. And half the ones I can name didn’t post to the Gold Cup because even they don’t care about this team. The men’s team is mid and a laughable outside the Americas. The USWNT stars are STARS and world known. The USMNT is almost a joke. The men flop around like toddlers. Men don’t flop around like toddlers. But, given some of the comments on here, clearly there are a lot of men that flop around like toddlers on this thread.
