The coaches walk up to kids on the fields and online and tell them if they go to qo they will get d1 scholarships and if they don't they won't. Then they help them get fake leases. Then they take the money the local parents give to the school and use it to pay for extra stuff for the kids they brought in. Some day it will blow up in the face because their a whole lot of receipts out there.

They've been doing it for 35 years, there are a bazillion receipts out there, and nothing has ever been done. MCPS doesn't care.

Because there's nothing wrong with it.

Yes there is something wrong with it. Even if all these players moved into the QO distririct to play, that is still wrong to try to dominate play this way. Also I sure wish they focused half as much on the academics for the kids that actual grew up in the area.

LOL sure after they were recruited and moved there to live in temporary housing. They announce it on social media when they are being recruited. It is not a secret.

Even if it's true, doesn't negate the fact they live in the QO zone.

How many of them can read at grade level? At least if the institution isn't good at schooling, it good at something.

Do you say the same thing when parents of bright children move so they’ll be zoned for a high school with high average test scores and successful chess/robotics/math/history/debate teams?

What if a kid’s best hope of attending college is to get a football scholarship, so his parents move into the QO cluster because they want their kid to go to college?

Who said parents move? They don’t.

Fixed it for you.

Seriously though, how many private schools in the DMV can beat them? Probably Dematha and maybe SJC, Gonzaga from time to time.

SJC , Dematha, Good Counsel, Gonzaga, would kill them

Bullis, Georgetown Prep, are about equal

Nah, the only team on this list that would probably kill them is DeMatha.

What?

If I recall they played GC a few years ago and GC beat the brakes off of them.

SJC would too. GZ would beat them. McNamara might beat them.

But the top 4 in the WCAC- we are talking about a running clock.

Well, given the time requirements and the opportunity costs and the extreme unlikelihood of receiving a four year D1 scholarship, it'd be far more efficient to focus on studying if college is the goal.

When? That would only happen in an off-year for QO

Why would it have to be D1?

My DC is involved with Maryland football. One of the guys on team (not sure he is still there - so many entered portal this year) played on QO but lived in Clarksburg. His parents didn’t move to QO district, they used a false address. The Red Army is a powerhouse bc they recruit. 🙄. Had this kid played on Clarksburg team where he belonged? Doubtful he would be a D1 player today. So, the recruiting is wrong IMO but I can see why high school student athletes and parents are so eager to join QO football.
