College clothing if your son wore khakis (plus or minus jackets/ties) in high school?

If your DS had a khaki dress code in high school (plus or minus jackets and ties) did he switch to all sweats and tee shirts in college?
My son thinks he doesn't need any new clothing and plans to wear the khakis daily and says that many of the grads from his high school do.
Wondering what your DS did.

Question is silly. Leave him be.

Your trying to helicopter what an adult wears?! Do you still change his diapers too? I cannot fathom this being a thought for my young adults. The fact that your mind is on what you adult son chooses to wear is beyond strange. I can't even begin to tell you. I seriously hope he never dates my daughter!

So rude. Her question was perfectly reasonable. I’m still buying my college age daughter her clothes. She loves my taste, was voted best dressed as senior and loves the compliments she gets.

My son wears whatever I buy him and has zero interest in clothes and doesn’t care what anyone else is wearing. I absolutely get involved in buying him appropriate clothing The fact that they both appreciate it shows there’s no problem.

I would bet you do actual strange things that the OP and I wouldn’t even consider doing.

Guys are more about comfort and chinos are comfortable. Also they are bland and
non offensive, that helps

This right here. My kid loves the comfort of chinos.

An adult should not be wearing sweat pants to class. Khakis, yes. They are easy to match with different shirts. Hemmingway and Keroac wore khakis. Jeans, also yes. I think this guy knows what he's doing.

Your son should wear whatever they feel comfortable in. I have heard from some kids in Business School that they have some classes where they are to dress professional due to a presentation or speech. My son loves sweats hates jeans and Khakis and polos are his go to for business casual. A jacket and tie for presentation. In college he should just wear what makes him comfortable.

I think it will totally depend on what everyone else is doing on campus. My kid was the opposite- lived in sweats/joggers, athletic shorts, hoodies and sneakers all four years of high school. Now he only wears golf shorts, khakis and jeans. That seems to be the guy uniform where he is.

For the love of God. It's a simple question on a pretty Saturday morning. You are the one who needs help if a simple post triggers such a mean response to a stranger.
No where did I say I was going to dictate what he wears. No where. I haven't had an input for 4 years, if not more.
I am just curious. Simply curious. Not everything that is posted on here is based in deep pathology.
