Prince William should be split into 2 counties. MOCO should be split into 4 counties and Loudoun should be split into 3 parts.

Didn’t the whole Purcellville attempt to abolish their police department out of the blue teach you anything?

I don’t trust town government. Give me county oversight any day.

Fairfax county is too large and a handful of counties with around 200k people each would be more responsive to voters.

Fairfax county is one of the best governmentally run units in the country. No it should not be broken up. I would expand by eliminating all of the cities in the county.

That poster was just talking about FCPS. She wants to break up into smaller school systems to further segregate the poors and keep her tax dollars benefitting wealthier areas only.

No. And various posts have made it quite clear that people support increasing funding for all public schools - state wide - to be kore fair to down state counties not as wealthy as the poorest parts of Fairfax.

It was quite clear a few post in when a reference to being a "cash cow" was made. That's usually thinly veiled code for "I don't want my tax dollars going to poors and all the extra programs they need."

And most posts agreed that this was a terrible idea. Not sure where you're reading that it is supported.

There's plenty of support for breaking up the county and allowing the areas that are constantly getting ripped off to operate independently. Right now the county is run by a bunch of idiots who want to kill the geese that lay the golden eggs.

But it's muted because the state imposes impediments to incorporation. Youngkin get more mileage out of criticizing Fairfax than actually allowing parts of Fairfax to break off.

What is your source for your claim that there is plenty of support for breaking up the county?

It is not one of the best run in the county. It is spending too much money and the county is going downhill.

Spending too much money on what? What do you mean it's going downhill? Be specific.

The entire country is facing a homelessness crisis if you haven't noticed. Why would we be exempt?
The new meals tax is on entertainment. Not essentials.
TJ is just fine and will continue to be.

Everything is fine. Everything is fine.

Multiple fortune 500 companies but they employ almost no one in Fairfax County. It looks good on paper but it's basically a Potemkin village.

FCPS should be broken up because all of the school board members run just as a springboard to higher office.

Yes, everything is fine. Where are you getting the idea that no one works here from these companies? Mars just moved their global HQ to Fairfax. It's not Forrune 500 because it's privately owned by they have $50 billion in sales every year. But what do they know?

Multiple companies recently moved or upgraded their facilities in Fairfax county. But I guess they are spending millions for the fun of it and plan to have them sit empty

Seems like MOCO is two separate counties. Separated by RT 355. West of and East of, looks like two different counties.

Yes we need smaller school districts that are more accountable to voters. Also voters are more willing to pay more in taxes if they know the money will go to their schools. It is bad for equity but good for people in wealthy areas.

Montgomery County is all ready split into three different counties. East, West, and Upper.

No it is not, MOCO should have 3 separate county councils with independent zoning authority and separate school districts.

+1

MOCO schools are so inefficient and have policies that make absolutely no sense due to the fact that the county is geographically so large.

One good reason for more towns in NoVa is to get more local control over zoning. Towns control their own zoning even while they share schools with the county.

Right on time. You all never stop beating this drum.

You all never stop looking for ways to rip us off and degrade our schools and communities.

Yeah, don't you just hate it when poor people and people from different cultures move in to rip you off and degrade your community schools and communities?
