NCS Commencement Speaker is a Graduating Senior’s mom?!?

So your issue is the over exposure of the speaker not that she’s the mother of a student. Sounds like you don’t like this lady and it’s tacky for you to drag the daughter into it.

I am not the OP. I don't know this woman, but it is lazy of the HOS to keep using the same person as a speaker for this class.

Are there dozens of accomplished, well known people not associated with NCS willing to speak for free? I doubt it. NCS isn’t Harvard. I’m impressed they managed to have someone I’ve heard of-even if she’s a parent at the school.

There are many accomplished alums.

Then suggest to the HoS that he call one of the many illustrious alums. Or offer to do it yourself rather than badmouthing a sort of famous person doing a kindness at your kid’s school.

Sounds like it’s a common tradition at the school and they likely asked her. She’s likely doing it as a favor, not to draw attention. Sheesh, some of you!

Presumably OP is tacky enough to want someone “better” as commencement speaker since she chose to shell out 50k a year for NCS even though her kid could have gotten a better education for free if she were smart enough to get into a public school magnet program.
