I mean, isn't that what a politician should be doing? Doing things that most voters want?

Fun fact: youth does not constitute most voters.

Fun fact: 70% of U.S. adults support marijuana legalization, moron: https://news.gallup.com/poll/514007/grassroots-support-legalizing-marijuana-hits-record.aspx

A majority of self-identified conservatives even favor of it. Maybe do some basic research on the court of public opinion before spewing off ignorance next time.

Oh, look, 64% of Americans support limits for abortions. The government should do what the voters want?

https://news.gallup.com/poll/321143/americans-stand-abortion.aspx

Define limits for abortion. Most of America is at 20-24 weeks (2nd trimester). Not 6 weeks. Not only once the mother is septic or has an ectopic rupture.

Any limit is unacceptable for most of DCUM. That's at odds with what the majority of the population wants.

Really? Can you please link to the DCUM abortion platform? TYIA

He’s late to the party, and obviously hasn’t kept up with what the latest data is telling us about increased availability of weed. The news isn’t good.

For years I supported legalization.
But now we’ve seen the negative effects of increasing availability. Also the stuff available now is much stronger than the stuff I remember from the 90s.

The last thing this young generation needs is more of a substance that is making people less productive and successful. Then again, that seems to be par for the course for this administration.

+1. Newer studies have shown a connection with mental illness later in life.

Yep. Especially worrisome with the newer, stronger strains. We are just beginning to see the effects. Things will get worse as more people use greater amounts of stronger strains. This is just the beginning.

It’s a tough call for me since OTOH I hate to see people’s lives be ruined by going to prison for it. But maybe instead of legalization we should focus on improving outcomes and providing more support for people coming out of prison for nonviolent offenses.

You don’t know anything about cannabis, obviously. Stronger only means you smoke less for the same effect. That’s a good thing. You can only get so high. There is a ceiling. New strains do not get you “more high”. This is common knowledge. You are seriously uninformed.

Stronger strains will increase the amount of THC consumed on average which will create more neurological adaptation. Using weed increases the level of GABA and in the long-term this will cause problems because the brain decreases the number of GABA receptors to maintain equilibrium. There are cascading effects of neurological dysfunction that accumulate by messing with the GABA neurochemical system.

Marijuana use increases the risk of schizophrenia and heart disease. Anytime you burn something and inhale it there are negative health consequences. Even wood fireplaces are bad for your health, particulate matter from smoke causes health issues. Long term use of psychoactive substances like cannabis cause structural changes in neurological pathways that can trigger mental illness.

Better to just lock people up then, right? Keep em unemployable. I mean alcohol is way worse, but that’s in the Bible so it’s okay.

Simple solution. We don't vote for the major party candidates any more until they put forth viable candidates and we damn sure don't give them any money to throw away on campaigns for their garbage candidates. If we did this, we'd witness complete reform in our two major parties by 2028 and we'd once again have real POTUS candidates to choose from. We've already screwed ourselves until the next presidential term ends in 2029 because it will be Trump or Biden leading the country until then. We have to stand up to the wealthy elites running the two major parties or else there will be no middle class by 2040. Wake up people!

Fox news lies.

This is not a Fox News lie. This information was pulled directly from the Journal of the American Heart Association and the National Institute of Health. People can do whatever they want, but the research is clear that smoking weed and breathing in any type of smoke in general is bad for your health. This is a fact and ignoring it because you enjoy using marijuana does not make it a lie.

And alcohol kills brain cells, but we don't outlaw that.

over 70% of the American public wants to legalize and tax weed. So not really late to the party.

Edibles dont have the impact on lungs, and people who smoke pot or cigarettes do it outdoors or in their own spaces.

I mean, isn't that what a politician should be doing? Doing things that most voters want?

Most voters want lower taxes. Now what?

Most voters don’t want Biden (or Trump) to run again. Now what?

Narrator: Trump and Biden are both not only running, but one of them will be our president after January 20, 2025.

In 2024, if we did this, Trump will be the next president and he has already announced his authoritarianism, so an election in 2028 is a non-issue.

You understand that Republicans will win another presidential election eventually right? What's your plan then? Voting for Buden will not save you from authoritarianism. The system is good and well broken already.
