| DD, a freshman in H.S., just said she wants a pair of Crocs and that everyone is wearing them. Am I missing something? Aren't these totally out of style? I've never been a fan and I'm trying to figure out if she's pulling my leg... |

Birkenstocks and topsiders are in this year for my HS DD.
Seems like girls, at least, are interested in making ugly footwear fashionable. Haven't heard specifically about crocs. Will ask DD. |
| Uggs are ugly, in addition to absurdly expensive, and I'm still waiting for them to go out of fashion. Maybe this year? At least Crocs are cheaper. |
| Crocs were never "in." |
They are far from expensive. Some are ugly, some are not. |
| Uggs aren't expensive?! |
+1 ?? |
In our area, they were never 'out'. |
| Uggs are like $180. To me, that's expensive. |
For A decent pair of warm boots? You are looking at least at $100. Look at some frye boots for $500 and get back to us. |
It sounds to me like you have more money than you know what to do with. I can help solve that problem for you! Signed, somebody who can't afford to spend even $100 on functional warm boots for their seventh-grader with growing feet, let alone >$200 on trendy fashion footwear |
| Yes. |
Whoa lady. $180 is a lot to drop on a pair of boots for a kid whose feet are still growing and may only wear them for a year. It might be something we'd still do but we'd recognize that it was not a drop in the bucket, and something special. You should be grown up enough to at least recognize your privilege! I think you might be on the wrong board? DC Assh@le Moms and Dads is a different site! |
| I splurged and spend the $27 to get the Crocs. DD has Uggs and I do consider them expensive (and not good for her feet- they are flat). |
