My daughter wants to invite friends over for her 10th birthday. She will be inviting about 10 friends. What types of activities do kids this age do at birthday parties. They will be watching a movie plus eating pizza - what else? She mentioned singing and dancing but any other ideas?
Do parents usually stay at the party and run stations or is this do the girls just hang out in the basement with little parental involvement? |

Here are some ideas: 1) Decorate their own goodie bags 2) Instead of having a cake -- decorate their own cupcakes 3) At my 8 yr old's sleepover the girls made their own bath salts. All you need is epsom salt, baking soda and fragrance or essential oils 4) For movie time, I made popcorn handed out brown paper bags and laid out different popcorn toppings -- powered cocoa, cinnamon sugar, butter, salt. Let them make their own popcorn to their taste 5) Have a tablet? Do you have dubsmash ? let them hook the tablet up to the tv and do dubsmash on the big screen. |

I don't think 10 year olds going to a sleep over expect goodie bags or too many structured activities.
PP had some good suggestions though. -karaoke -make pizza (buy pre-made pizza dough, pre cut toppings) |

You should NOT "run stations" - they are old enough to do their own thing. They can watch movies, sing and put on dances, plays, do each others nails, make pizza, make sundaes, go for a walk in the neighborhood, etc.
You should barely be involved, except for taking pizza in and out of the oven. |

Just to be clear I was no suggesting that you run stations OP, I was just giving suggestions for activities . All you need to do is provide the place and tbe supplies and MAJE sure they clean up to your satisfaction( or maybe that is just me, I don't care if you are the Pope, you will not wreck my houes, you make a mess, you clean up a mess --LOL!) |
