Anyone else hate work?

I wish I didnt have to work. The thought of it depressses me. I work PT and I still hate it.
Just venting.

Wait- do people actually like work?

When I was younger, I loved working (earning $) but hated my jobs (office admin or tech positions)

Now, I love my job (teaching) but hate working (time away from my kid, health issues).

OP, I've never understood the notion of working for fulfillment.

I work to earn my leisure time.

Possible exception is being your own boss. But working for someone else as a form of purpose and fulfillment is really idiotic.

It's weird around here how people define themselves by what they do.

OP here, it's just hard when I have to drag myself to work.

Imagine being paid for what you like to do. In my case, I am a research scientist. I love what I do. I would do this type of work even if I did not need the money. So, I get a decent paycheck every two weeks doing what I enjoy (80% of the time) doing. Seems like a good deal for me.

Honestly I think the majority of people tolerate work. There are a lucky few who LOVE their jobs. I completely envy that. All the things I love to do would make me barely any income however.

People want fulfillment because most people are spending 8+ hours a day at their job. That's a lot of hours to spend somewhere you don't like.

Hate my job, hate my boss. Used to not be like this, but I'm overworked, underpaid, and tired of getting kicked around. Am looking for a PT job that doesn't cause me to gain 20lbs from the stress.

I have had roles I LOVED and roles I hate.
Often it is more dependent on my team than the role itself.

I am just getting back from a 4 week vacation so it has been tough to settle back in (which is why I am on DCUM .

Anyway I really wish I didn't have to work but I haven't figured out how to be a SAHM and a single parent.

That said if you HATE your work every day, every year, it is time to look for a new job.

If you LOVE your work every day, every year then you need to share your prescription with the rest of us.

I hate my job.
Actually working is a drag.
I've been looking but my likes are sleep, sex, food and shopping. Since I can't get paid well to do any of those, I'll keep going to the job.
