No snack in 1st grade?

My 1st grader said he did not have a snack time. He only had one recess right before lunch.
He has always had 2 snacks since he started preschool. In K last year, they had snack and 2 recesses. Do kids have no snack time after kindergarten? |

| 2 snacks? We only had 1 snack in K. Just talked to my 1st grader, he had a snack around 2 PM. |

| Yes, kids have snack after K. Ask the teacher if they had snack. |

| Mine are still having snack in 3rd, and in 4-5 it was "as needed" based on the child (one kid had blood sugar issues and was allowed to have a snack). |

They have snack in YOUR school after K, but not in every school. +1 though to asking the teacher... |

| NP here. When should I ask? I have never complained about anything and don't want to be THAT parent. Should I wait to back to school night? I am another one that is concerned about short recesses, too. 2nd grade. |

| Our school has either morning snack OR afternoon snack depending on whether the assigned lunch is early or late. |

| No snack at our school, FCPS. My kid came home very hungry. His lunch was at noon, bus didn't get here until 4;45! |

Depends on the school. My daughter is in 4th grade at Arlington Traditional, and has never had a snack. She adjusted, and I always made sure to have easy grab and go snacks in my car when I pcked her up from extended day. Fruit snacks were good. |
