Hilaria Baldwin - At it again

Just crickets.

I know right?

So far I haven't seen any proof she's even spent a day in Spain, besides that trip right before meeting Alec.

There are pictures of her on some random beach and another wearing a Spain soccer jersey, but they don't prove anything. No where in her parents bios or their many online speeches and interviews do they mention an affinity for Spain, nor has Hillary demonstrated anything more than a rudimentary understanding of the Spanish language.

Her ties to Spain are extremely dubious and unless there is some evidence out there no one has seen yet, I'm willing to bet she hasn't spent more than a week or two in that country her entire life

Even if she had spent one month (or three) per year of her entire life that doesn't make her anything. That could show her the Spanish culture, that could teach here how to talk in Spanish, but...sorry, it's not enough. Does she contribute to the Spanish Social Security System?Does she know the culture of Mallorca?Does she REALLY studied here?Does she really know our culture aside from the stale clichés that have us fed up?Or...is one of her parents from here? No, no, no...and no.

So sorry, she is a rich girl who vacays here, and also her parents. Yep, they probably live here, but...retiring in a place does not make you be from that place. In fact, the "expat" retirees that we usually have in Spain tend to be very little integrated into our culture and have little interest in doing so. Why, if we even put the menus in their language and we adapt to them...

As her mom said:

The most challenging lesson I have had to learn as a parent is to honor, truly honor, my children’s choices, and accept their free will as they wend their way on their life’s journeys. At times, it has been very hard for me to offer unconditional love…

PP here, I was actually wrong about her father, apparently he spent some significant time in Spain and was very attracted to the culture there. That in no way proves Hilary also spent a great deal of time there earlier in life, I still believe she spent a few weeks there on vacation at best, she never "grew up" there as she and her cringeworthy husband have suggested.

So what are the parents doing in Spain? Promoting integrative medicine. What is it?

Besides the usual issues with alternative medicine, integrative medicine has been described as an attempt to bring pseudoscience into academic science-based medicine,[35] leading to the pejorative term "quackademic medicine". Due to its many names, the field has been criticized for intense rebranding of what are essentially the same practices

CAM is an abbreviation of the phrase complementary and alternative medicine.[36][37] It has also been called sCAM or SCAM with the addition of "so-called" or "supplements".[38][39]

It seems like she really is cluster b. Like histrionic personality disorder as others have said. The more they deny and double down the more crazy she seems. I feel like eventually that will be the public narrative because everyone will realize it. But I don't know we tend to forgive celebrities and men and certain people in our society for horrible behavior so may be nobody will care.

Maybe the parents are pissed that their daughter is screwing up their business with her lack of authenticity.

A IS catholic and they were married in a catholic church

I've wondered this too. I am assuming it is the celebrity that let this fly with the Catholic church (not at all surprising), but the fact that she is a WASP should have come up in pre-cana. I guess no one verified she was Catholic or looked the other way? We are WASP/Catholic and getting married in the church was not an option (though as the WASP portion of this couple, I wouldn't have wanted to and certainly wouldn't have jumped through those hoops). They're lying liars who lie though, so who knows.

With permission from the archdiocese, a priest will do all the sacraments ahead of time without the normal preparation. We are non celebrities and for various reasons we didn't have to do the required premarital counseling and my spouse was confirmed the night before the wedding (again with no preparation). We've been married and had both children baptised in a famous church (UNESCO world heritage site) with literally no prep for any of the sacraments. So yes it is possible. The Catholic Church in the US is really, really rigid and makes it very difficult to do this but in other places they are much more flexible. Please don't blast me, but the Church also recognizes publicity and celebrity appeal so bending the rules in certain circumstances enables them to continue to have relevance in an era of steeply declining church attendance.

I thought this said a lot too...

"In our work lives, our friendships and our daily movements, we encounter people in conflict with themselves and with others. We are tempted to judge them, criticize them, change them. We cannot possibly know the lessons that they have to learn, nor the pace at which they must learn their lessons.

When we realize that we cannot possibly know these things, we can accept them with more ease and grace."

Sounds like she is talking about accepting her daughter.

I understand why the parents haven't spoken out. I have a sister with some of these traits who does some pretty obnoxious things. If it came back to bite her I would not defend her. I want her to be happy, but I don't enable.

I also think they are giving out plenty of "blink twice" signals. The mom's words above tell you where she is with this. The dad came to the wedding, but supposedly didn't walk her sown the isle and he wrote in a blog that he has no Spanish roots. They are telling the world they are not a part of this. When you have a disturbed child, you don't want to make life harder for them, but you also don't want to enable poor behavior. So basically they are following those guidelines.
