| For a LLC where currently there is only one person - how much do you think health, dental and vision would cost? $1200 a month? |
| It depends on the type you want. High deductible PPO? Much cheaper. Cadillac plan, way more expensive. Why don't you just go on to ehealthinsurance.com and fill in your details. It will give you a quote instantly. |
| look it up on healthcare.gov |

I wouldn't bother with dental--most major stuff isn't covered for the first year or two and the monthly premiums are pretty high (Although I looked for a family, maybe it's not as bad for one person) and you'd be better off just saving that money just in case you had a dental emergency.
Our family high deductible PPO + HSA is a little under a thousand a month. I think next year we will change to an HMO and see how it goes--it's ridiculous how much we pay for health care and it basically covers nothing. |
Do you buy this through heathcare.gov website? |
| Are there professional organizations in your field? They will often have group plans for small business owners that are less expensive than buying a private policy. |
| This LLC is only one person now - owner/worker - same. |
14:15 here, not sure if this was directed to me. What I meant by a group plan isn't a group plan for the business, but basically a group plan for business owners in the field. For instance, state bar associations will often have health insurance programs that solo practitioners can buy into so they can get the affordability of a group plan despite being a solo. |
I will need to look into that. Thanks. |
