Is it just regular yogurt or is it something different? Is it just the bifidus regularis in the probiotic that is not in normal yogurt, or what? My 4 year old just ate it like it was a revelation, and requested for it to be put in her lunch box. Is it ok for kids? She just said, "It's a lot good!" (Vanilla flavor).

The bacterial strain is proprietary, which is the difference. They own it.
Hat being said, commercial yogurt is loaded with added sugar, Activia included. The fact that it has both sugar and fructose listed in the top few ingredients is reason enough to reconsider it as a choice at all. |
I can't imagine why it wouldn't be fine for a child. Activia is the only yogurt I actually like (especially strawberry), and I find it really does help with tummy troubles. For what it's worth, they make a no sugar version (probably has artificial sweeteners), but it can be hard to find.
I really think it's just like any other yogurt. I'd think it would be fine for a kid.
My kids eat it. No problems.
