Whe our kids graduate from college and.or highschool or vocational or anything...

I think there should be a special ceremony for the families of kids with SN. The parents or the graduate get up and give academy award like speeches. I'd like to thank...

The only preschool teacher who adored my child.

The PT who helped my child learn to walk.

The OT who taught Larla how to write legibly.

The mainstream teacher who was a master at inclusion.

The ST who helped my child learn to talk.

The developmental pediatrician who wrote reports that helped ys get services.

The ....you get the drift. I think by the time we get to that stage we'll have a pretty long list. Cheers to the good ones. You make a difference!

Thanks for posting PP. Having had a horrible week with people who clearly don't want to help DC your post made me think of all the people who do want to help and have helped.

OP here. I'm so glad you found it helpful. I have had so many days of disillusionment, yet time after time there are these people who truly care and I need to think about that more. Had a conversation with our OT today who is one of those angels. I tell the good ones how much they mean to us, but I'm not sure they get not only how much they do for our kids, but how much they do for sanity as parents and our sense of HOPE and faith in people.

I wanted to buy my kid's pre-K teacher a car. She prodded us into the evaluations that led to a diagnosis, got us through it, and just loved him so much that he was happy in her class despite all his issues. I wish I could just hire her to homeschool him.
