I follow a lot of fashion blogs and decorate on the side. These were popular about 3-5 years ago. I think they're already dated. Agree with PP that they were popular a few years ago.

We still use ours. Helpful for extra seating and for kids. But, we have a modern bohemian aesthetic, so it works for our decor. Not sure if it would still be fashionable in a more traditional style setting.

Op here: modern bohemian is us as well so I am glad it works for you although I like he look of he leather cubes PPs have pointed out.

These provide no back support and I wouldn't use them for seating. I'd use them to put my feet up. I don't like the pouf, I agree it's dated.
