CMI waitlist for PK3?

Anonymous
We've moved from 10 to 8 in the last two days, after no movement for about a month. Any insights from current CM PK3 families (or folks higher on the waitlist who may have called for info) about our prospects? I assume our odds are still low, and that's fine... we're starting tomorrow at a different charter, but would like to gird ourselves for a very quick last-minute decision if a spot is actually feasible. TIA.

I know typically for schools there is a lot of waitlist movement in the last month (especially at the PK3 level) as parents get into schools at the last minute and decline spots.

As the CMI - not sure 8 seems like a lot of numbers to climb.

Op - forwhat it's worth we are ahead of you on the waitlist and plan to decline this but if I offered

*I meant to say decline the spot if offered. Voice dictation error

We were #23 initially. Interesting, 17:51, thanks. May I ask why you will decline? Just out of curiosity.

People like you annoy the hell out of me. If you know that now, why haven't your removed yourself from the WL? Just lazy?

honestly, I just didn't know you could do that. We got a slot at our top choice outside the common lottery so I haven't even been on myschooldc except to turn down our matched school months ago. Just logged on today out of curiosity and wanted to let op know they are one slot closer than they think. Guess I'll log on again and see if I can take myself off the WL. Good luck

Keep your spot on the waitlist, you never know what can happen.

She got her top choice. This is the problem with the lottery, people who sit.

I'm not waiting on a spot and haven't don't the lottery in years - but having remembered the frustration and worked on the initial common lottery process, it's annoying when you see people sit on WL spots.

Actually I think the real problem here is schools that don't participate in the common lottery!! That is not the PPs fault!

WL numbers change drastically. I too was on my top choice school WL #8 for about 3 days and checked one morning at 9:00am and by 11:30am I got a email stating I was offered a spot!

Wow, that's fast! So hard to know if it would be a good idea to switch now that we finally started at the other school, which seems great so far. I would think a sudden yanking into a totally different place would be sort of disconcerting for a 3-year-old after the playdates, visits, etc, though I know kids get over far worse transitions...
