Then clearly you haven’t watched them before 11v11. They are possession team to a fault. Unhelpful comment from a likely Loudoun parent (pot meet kettle) |
That's comical. You have no idea what you are talking about and are just trying to troll Bethesda parents. Fine, I'll take the bait. You have obviously never watched the Bethesda 09s. They have never been kick and run. Like ever. There problem is actually the opposite and they spend too much time making 5 and 10 yard passes while never going forward with the ball. It might look good but it does not get results. Bethesda's start has nothing to do with the players or the players skills or development. Size could be an issue but in reality it is simply because there are two roosters in the roost telling the hens to do two different things. The girls are confused and intimidated. Probably should mention 3 of the 4 losses this season were to teams that are just plain better teams. Loudoun 2x (2-1, 2-0), and Matchfit (1-0). Matchfit is one of the very best 2009 teams in the entire US. I could get into the Lower Merion loss but that is not worth the time or energy. A bad loss is a bad loss. Happens to just about every good team. No excuses. Really, it's not like Lower Merion is that bad of team either. So unless you have a child that plays at Loudoun, you have absolutely nothing to stand on. There is not another team in the DMV that has beaten a top team in our area. Arlington has not beaten a top 100 team this year. The toughest competition Metro has seen is an EDP team in Coppermine and they split games. Trust me when I say I would absolutely love to see Arlington or Metro play Matchfit or PDA. I am sure the Pipeline parents would agree with me. |
I've watched them play over the years and they love to park the bus and play direct to the one target forward so the OP seems accurate. |
Brutal fall both in terms of schedule and results. I'm hoping we rebound against the lesser opponents on the schedule. |
Good luck with that but it looks like you have four of the top teams in the division left to play. |
Clearly this person doesn’t know what “kick and run” means. |
Most of the time they play possession style. |
Yes - that’s what we’ve experienced when we play them |
Parents these little girls are learning let them play, make mistakes and don’t worry for the losses. If you pretend and stress winning over losing your kids may not Learn the correct way. See a kid playing not relaxed va the kid playing over stressed just because daddy mommy or coach expect wins. |
One of the good things the old DA used to do was that they were not tracking points or scores for teams U15 and under. |

Here we go with the Strawman Arguments...
Overly caring about winning and playing to win are two totally different things. Overly caring is wrong, and nothing is wrong with playing to win. I tell my DD to give it 100% on the field. That's it. I tell her if a team is going to be very good, about the same, or her team has better chance to win than not. Let me be clear, she asks me about the other team. She cares about winning. If she doesn't ask, I don't say a thing about it. |
| Aren't we talking about 7th graders here? 7th.... grade.....??? |
Yes but winning is everything at this age and the 08 age group. You will notice how many times people post scores of games. The best is when people get really excited about a 1-0 win. |
|
Just so I'm clear, we have no issue ranking teams in an imaginary poll but we can't walk about actual on field results because scores and winning don't matter.
You people are f'n crazy town. |
Ever heard of the Little League World Series? AAU Basketball? Pop Warner Football? |
