As a former Loudoun parent, I haven’t seen any untruths out of the basic complaints:

1. Loudoun took the money (there’s no credible argument otherwise)
2. Loudoun nepotism in their coaching staff
3. Loudoun prioritizes, promotes and elevates the players of well connected and family parents (I saw this up close)
4. The TD covers for it all with gaslighting

Those who have been there and witnessed it know. Those who benefit are here to cover. Loudoun is a club in the truest sense of the word. There are families who are members of the club, then there are others who pay to support the club and in return get a lower level environment for their kid to play in as a bone. That’s just the way it is there, so for those who want their kid to play at a higher level there, make sure you build or have an in there first.

As a parent who spent 6+ years with two kids playing travel soccer at LS, I have to say that I agree with almost all of what this person wrote. I can't speak for #4 above because I never dealt with the TD but everything else is spot on.

Yes, most people don’t deal directly with him, but he has a very big impact on the makeup of the travel teams from the very earliest ages. There are coaches at Loudoun who have family children playing on preferred teams. Friends of the staff have children on the top teams and there are also lots of children of parents in high local positions on the highest teams. It’s not impossible for a less connected kid to make an upper level team, but they have to be extraordinary, which is rare in this area. This is why their teams, outside of a scant few, underperform.

From my observation their teams underperform due to coaching. There is less “elite of the elite” talent than a few clubs (FCV, McLean) but once you get past those 2-3 exceptional players the talent is the same, but the coaching is worse hence the poor performance on average. The coaching is not what you’d expect of ECNL level. I believe with the same set of players at most of the age groups, if you took the better coaches from the other clubs and had them coach Loudoun they’d consistently finish in the top 5 of each league age bracket vs. the bottom 5.

News flash - The Loudoun 07 ECNL team was #1 in the MA last season and went undefeated. The 08 team is pretty good too. The older teams were all formed before the club got ECNL.

What do you expect when most of them have had their licenses for a decade or two? Not being challenged. Plain old fashion bourgeoisie. They are friends or in cahoots with TD and DOC so they are doing what any lazy and incompetent would do: milk that cash cow until the last possible drop.

It’s not a secret that if you throw big dollars at the club your child will be promoted no matter what. I’ve experienced it firsthand. It’s sad but that’s what the pay to play system enables. If you truly care about your child’s growth and development you know damn well to run from Loser Soccer.

The only rebuttal fanboys and suckers will give you here is that their 07 team is the best... what they won’t tell you is the hideous and borderline heinous modus operandi of stealing players from other clubs under false premises. But, to each their own! This is a free country!

It's so true. I heard wealthy LS parents also paid off the parents of other teams and refs to throw games so Loudoun can win!

Loudoun $occer has lost about 1 team in each age group. On both make and female sections. Rendering your remnants with a watered down and overall shittier teams. But you’re more worried about an online forum.

Did you know Segra doesn’t want Loudoun $occer using their fields?

Are you aware there is a motion in place to push Loudoun $occer out of ECNL for lack of performance within the next 2 years?

Did you know your DOC is more concerned taking pictures of other clubs during practices and games to report them in hopes of shutting them out of business?
