Is Summer Residential Governor’s Schools a big deal?

Gov school is a huge deal!
Anonymous
Gov school is up there with NISL-Y and would count as the “National” level awards people in here are always talking about.

Yes. Not sure why they email during school hours. My DC applied for engineering and didn't get in. Was a long shot but still disappointed. Congrats to those who get in!

Rejected for medicine and health sciences, rising junior. Top grades, rigor, test scores, multiple research experiences + awards

Does anyone know if there’s a waitlist for spots that get declined?

Alternate are the top couple on the waitlist. Then regular waitlist. Then decline.

DC is an alternate. Hopeful but disappointed.

My DC is in; got the email around 9:30; don’t know why they’d email during school hours instead of last night;
would also be good if application deadlines were earlier so you wouldn’t have to wait til mid-April to find out

I just got the email today that my dc was in, but he was able to login last week and saw he was accepted, so I think you can login even if you didn’t yet receive an email. His is for a language

Anyone know the acceptance rate?
Anonymous
Acceptance rate is low, top 10% of class. 150 selected across the state usually for each program, some are less.

DC as a rising junior got in for humanities.
