Anyone ever wonder what the hell barb was like to raise Janelle? Maybe barb was a Janelle herself bsck in the day???

You know, I've been watching Janelle and Barb since the 16 and Pregnant days. Dr. Drew will always allude to some nefarious parenting in Janelle's past, but nothing has ever been specified.

Yes, Barb is annoying and yells way too much, and it was likely a hostile household with no father figure. However, Janelle has been a piece of work since day 1 on the show and I just cannot figure out WHY she so vehemently despises a mother who clearly cares about her so much.

Because she's just a horrible excuse for a person. Her mother receives a good amount of praise for raising Jace, and Jenelle the narcissist cannot stand anyone to get attention other than herself. It's the same with her rage over Chelsea being congratulated for her 2nd pregnancy whereas Jenelle's 5th is not being celebrated...

Jenelle's entire personality screams mega daddy issues so I think it's not so much Barb that she's lashing out against all the time as it is Barb is all she has to lash out about every single thing she thinks is wrong with her life.

Barb has spoken (on camera to Jenelle) about being in abusive relationships, and that she stayed so that she could have a roof over their heads. Wouldn't surprise me if it's some combination of them witnessing violence against their mom, experiencing violence to themselves, possibly be blamed or blaming themselves for it, a mental disorder, the effects of drug abuse, and (for Jenelle) being a terrible person.

I always think of how people will die based on their personalities and lifestyles.

Adult Sophia will wind up dying of a drug overdose or being killed by an abusive man she's in a relationship with.

Child Novalee will die in a house fire while being watched for two weeks by a grandparent because Cait needed one of her many breaks.

Odds are in favor that either David will kill one of Janelle's kids or one will die in some sort of freak accident that wouldn't have happened if Janelle were actively parenting.

I get that this is not a serious post, but I really wish Cate wouldn't get so much blame for needing "breaks." She clearly has depression and is not getting treatment, and her husband piles on the blame, adding to her own self-doubt. Child Novalee may die in a house fire after being watched for two weeks by a grandparent... while Cate is dealing with the real-time shit in her life and Tyler can't be bothered to step up.

Someone else pointed out to me, correctly, that Tyler is also allowing the grandparents to watch Nova, not just Cate. What IS he doing all day while Cate is busy being depressed? Clearly not working or going to school.
