Name one that isn't.

Unitarian Universalism

I'm not Christian but I think the United Church of Christ is pretty forward thinking.

+1. Can't wait to see the response. I've been trying to fin a new religion. This will make my search that much easier.

Lutheranism. Well, the liberal synods. Or Unitarianism.

yes! This drives me insane

Lots of those people would like to live where (or near) where they work rather than an hour or two away. And poor and working class kids should have access to good schools, too.

These are people who just don't have the balls to be atheists. I have never heard of the other two.

Religion is antiquated. I have no idea why people still do it. It is like they cannot deal with the fact that there is no meaning to life, no one is in charge, and there is no reward for being a good person or no punishment for being a bad person. All religion is full of hatred for women. All!

They most likely enjoy your child and care for him / her but if they were not paid to watch your child they simply would not do so. It isn't love that keeps a non-parent caregiver from doing their job.

I used to be a nanny and I truly, truly loved my charges. Adored them and cried when I had to move away and leave them. You are making a universal statement. This may be true of some but it certainly is not true of all.

+1. We are just higher lifeforms whose only purpose is to propagate the species.

What's with all the hate for IVF? Because I can't get pregnant naturally I should just accept that? By that line of reasoning I should decline treatment for a cancer dx.

I realize that this may sound harsh, but a lot of people think of infertility as an evolutionary mechanism. I realize that isn't an emotionally acceptable idea for those struggling with infertility, but such evolutionary mechanisms are evident in all species.

This has to be a troll b/c unless OP is Native American, his/her family came from elsewhere.

What I oppose is the self righteous douchebag masquerading as an expert on evolution.
I also secretly oppose the ability to post incendiary posts anonymously on DCUM the way OP did.
I oppose the types of people who would think this sort of junior high school thread is productive in any way.
I oppose anybody who thinks the way OP thinks.

new poster here. But then isn't any disease, especially cancer also an evolutionary mechanism? Especially cancer in childhood and young adulthood.

No, all religions don't hate women. Second, I love how you think you KNOW the truth about "no meaning to life" etc while those who disagree just have an opinion.
