#21 Capital Blue- Avg RPI of schools: 30.31, Avg ranking in US News and World Report: 52.83

#1 M&D Black- Avg RPI of schools: 15.15, Avg ranking in US News and World Report: 46.1

***some schools not counted in USNWR rankings, difference in scores would have been even greater. 2 Navy (not counted nationally, a Liberal Arts classification) and 1 Loyola (only regionally ranked) for M&D, and 1 Davidson (Liberal Arts classification) for Cap Blue.

Very interesting.

M&D has some really good kids, including a 5 star, that haven’t committed yet too. I can’t tell from what’s on inside lacrosse, does cap blue have anyone left that is expected to go D1?

NO ONE uses RPI for rankings really. Most use IWLCA poll https://www.iwlca.org/news_article/show/1339864.
Do the stats for that one since RPI is a bit wonky with the algorithm.

I used RPI bc there was a whole argument about it earlier in this thread and these two reasons: the NCAA uses it for the tournament and there is an RPI ranking for each team beyond the top 25. But here you go:

M&D Black IWLCA avg rank: 7.75
Cap Blue IWLCA avg rank: 16.2

So what are we saying? M&D is better and places girls at better schools? We already knew that? They are number 1 for a reason.

Well we knew that based on rankings and results that the m&d girls would play at higher ranked programs, but I remember seeing cap blue parents saying stuff like “our girls focus on high academic schools,” but I was surprised to find that the m&d girls were going to better schools on top of better programs on avg. That was interesting to me.

Fair point.

“NO ONE” uses the “NCAA Women’s Lacrosse RPI” except - let me check my notes THE F-NG NCAA…

FML it’s right in the name.

Plus it ranks beyond the top 25, so better for the comparison I was trying to make.
