Cheaters Thread (AM)

Where did the super long list of cheaters thread go?

I have been getting 100s of complaints a day about the thread and I finally decided to give in. I attempted to just remove the links to the sites with data, but it was too many. So, I removed the thread. There are still other threads with discussion, but I'm not going to allow anymore links to the hacked data.

Understood. In a way it's probably a good thing, as before it got to be 80+ pages some of us posted mildly identifying info & locations/zip codes. Thanks for the response!!

I know you've done a massive clean up already, by getting rid of that thread, but there are currently FOUR active Ashley Madison threads in non-explicit relationships.

Do you think they're ever go away, or maybe magically disappear overnight at some point?

So it's not true that "Cheaters never prosper." DCUM's got their backs.

I'm not complaining that you are keeping things above board on here, but the topic definitely won't go away. I'm just waiting for the data to be fully searchable. That will really bring down a lot of people.

Is it really that interesting?

I am more interested in those amazing young guys who stopped a terrorist attack in France. Three young military men and a couple of civilians, they literally saved hundreds of lives.

Surely that's worth thinking about, instead?

Yes, let's try to protect those poor little cheaters that were online trying to cheat and have sex with someone other than their spouse. And, I don't believe for one second all these cheaters claiming "I only was on one time it was a mistake and I never cheated." What are they going to say when over 1/3 of the millions of pictures posted are naked penxx picture. "Yes, it looks like my penxx, not sure how it got online."

Yes, it is that interesting. There were over 1200 responses in the original, long thread. And as someone has pointed out, there are at least five other threads going, related to AM. Doesn't that tell you something? Regardless of why people are interested,...people are interested. This is definitely censorship. I would wager that there are more people interested in the subject than people who are not interested. Anyone who doesn't want to read about it can choose not to. Yet now we have a situation where those people are dictating to the rest of us about what is acceptable to hear about and to discuss. I'm so very disappointed in DCUM's lack of commitment to free speech.

There are pretty solid arguments on both sides about the validity of linking to the stolen data, but "free speech" is not one of them. If fact, even suggesting such a thing is an indication of a level of misunderstanding of the topic so acute that further discussion is probably futile.

It is a simple fact that DCUM does not allow discussion of every issue. Every day, choices are made about which topics are appropriate and which are not. Today, I decided that linking to the hacked data is not.

Finally, claiming censorship and violations of free speech while simultaneously pointing out that at least five other threads are still going on the same topic is probably the most clueless thing I've ever seen written.

Jeff - I'm not going to get into the bigger issue here, but I came to thank you for taking it down. As a wife with two young kids who found her husbands accounts in the links provided, my world imploded. I couldn't stop looking at it and waiting for the next piece of info to be exposed. I don't need to see more. Ever. I didn't even know that until it was removed and I could breathe. So thank you.

I don't understand, the list is out on many other websites. I am curious, did you for fact find out he cheated and did you talk to you husband?

Also, let's remember that your free speech rights only mean that the government can't restrict your free speech. You have no first amendment rights as far as it concerns what Jeff allows on DCUM
