| My daughter woke to a bat flying around her room at 3 am. EEEEEK. Bat was removed but from looking online it appears it may be likely they are roosting somewhere in our house (since there will be no more sleep tonight and I have plenty of time to google). Any recommendations for a service that will come do an inspection? |

| I think if you were asleep in the same room as a bat you're supposed to get rabies shots. Bat bites are often so small that you can't feel them. |

Definitely seek rabies prophylaxis for your daughter today as PP suggests. Emergency room urgent cares provide this.
Bats love attics to roost in. Do you have a chimney? They fit through very small holes: gables, bricks askew, wire. Bats rest during the day, feed at night on insects. Mosquito bed larvae are a big source of bat attraction. Seek help from your local public health department. |

I did not post that we have the bat body and will have it tested - as I'm sure someone will jump down my throat for killing it and not rehoming it.
I'm just wondering if there is likely more than one bat and we should have a pest service come inspect, and if so, recommendations? |

| The same thing happened to me last week! It was so scary. My husband chaser it outside luckily. We did have a pest service come in to check for entry way and infestation, but there was so sign of bats or holes for the bat to get in. I'm assuming it flew in unnoticed while my husband was bringing in groceries late that night. No problems ever since. |
